PROTAGONISTS
Adalberto Ramos “Betto”
Betto is a defender of the human rights of people on the move. He is a Catholic layperson with Scalabrinian training in migrant care and over twenty years of experience in direct accompaniment. He coordinates CAME and the Migrant Resource Center, making him a local leader on the subject.

He holds a degree in Educational Intervention from the National Pedagogical University and has completed several studies on migration. He has a strong human and pastoral commitment to this ministry; furthermore, his tenacity has enabled him to foster a service team to comprehensively serve the mobile population.

Perla Del Angel
She is a human rights defender for people on the move. Since 2010, she has served in various capacities at CAME (Exodus Migrant Assistance Center) and contributes to the work of the Migrant Resource Center.
​
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Corporate Law, Diplomas in Education and Psychological First Aid for Migrants, Refugees, and Displaced Persons, as well as several courses on racism, security, migration, and human rights. She has participated in case documentation and advocacy programs and has collaborated on several reports on migration and human rights.

Regarding her family, she reflects, "Migration not only crosses borders, it crosses lives."

Jack and Linda Knox
Retired in 2012 to live and work in the Borderlands of Douglas, AZ/ Agua Prieta, Sonora, México.
​
Jack previously worked as a teacher, a psychologist, and a Mennonite pastor; and Linda taught high school math and English.
They have volunteered in Agua Prieta at the Migrant Resource Center for 12 years and for 9 years at CAME, the migrant shelter. They opened a hospitality house in Douglas where they offered lodging and their friendship to anyone who need a place to stay – including visitors, volunteers, and unhoused people in Douglas. They now feel that they are becoming a part of the community and that they have friends on both sides of the border.
