We produce full-length, short and medium format documentary films.
Our independent filmmaking practice starts with a desire to tell stories that are often not told in the mainstream. The initial phase of production and filming, during which we are guided by our curiosity and intuition, leads to a deeper research and understanding of the topic at hand. We often find that our perceptions of people, places and relationships are shifting. It is this sense of disorientation that compels us to rediscover the world that we are filming.
Our style draws from the cinema verité style of filmmaking as well as scripting scenes based on real life situations.
Filming the protagonists over a period of time, with a minimal crew, our approach helps create a film that is poetic and that reflects on, explores, visualizes, and questions without giving clear answers to the problems at hand. Sometimes life can be stranger than fiction and filming this way allows for an interplay between contingency and intention.
